Strawberry Moon Baby

Dec 8, 2016

This week I had the pleasure of making an adorable baby set for one of my Mom's coworkers who has a brand new grand baby!

As I was shopping through Janum Fabrics Black Friday sale, I came across this absolutely beautiful "Roseberry in Honey" print from the new Strawberry Moon fabric line by Portabellopixie for Michael Miller Fabrics. I was instantly in love with it and knew I had to use it for the baby set I would be making this week.

I also chose a red scallop print from the Neco line by Momo for Moda. I thought the Roseberry print was busy enough that it likely needed a blender fabric or maybe even a solid to compliment it. I think the two prints go beautifully together!

For this matching set I made a drawstring bag, bib, organic teether, and burp cloth.

Each baby item was backed with white organic terry cloth as well - my favorite backing for bibs and teethers next to chenille! I'm not much of a flannel person, I know it's popular for baby items but I much prefer quilting cottons or organic cottons and terry cloth (much more absorbent than flannel in my opinion) and as a mom of 3 I know all about what it takes to make a great bib!

I finished my drawstring bag off with this absolutely adorable Zakka style twill ribbon tape, also from Janum Fabrics. There is just something about twill measuring tape that gets me everytime!

The entire set was gifted to the new Grandma this week by my Mom to give to her coworkers daughter as "welcome baby" gift.  I'm hoping the recipient loves this set as much as I do - it almost makes me wish I had a new baby girl of my own to make one for...... almost, LOL.

Have your heard of the Strawberry Moon line before? I'd loved to hear your thoughts on this set, and as always you can purchase one for yourself or a little one in your life in my shop!
