241 Tote by Noodlehead

Oct 13, 2016

I have a super quick-finish tote to share with you today! A couple days ago (late at night) I made this 241 Tote (pattern by Noodlehead). I wanted to use it the following morning while taking the kids to the pumpkin patch with my husbands family. I was surprised at how fast it came together, especially after making almost all of Anna's other tote patterns previously. Estimated? I'd say it took me about 3 hours start to finish.

I used 3 Cotton + Steel prints - Netorious in Roadster, XOXO in Plummy Silver, and the Black & White Pencils print is called "Study Hall". The black main exterior panel is "Studio Stash Yarn Dyes Small Check" in Black from Robert Kaufman, it has great detail and texture, which is exactly what I was looking for.

The 241 Tote opens up super wide as you can see from the photo above. But, it's also incredibly light weight. I used mid-weight fusible interfacing on all exterior pieces and strap (which i made cross body length). You could easily fill this bag with lots of stuff and because the bag is already so light, you won't be carrying lots of extra weight.

The outer zipper pocket is pretty small, I did what the pattern called for but could have definitely made the pocket longer and wider to create more room inside it. Maybe next time...

My favorite part is easily the side pockets. they are perfect size for keys or a cell phone and I love the ease of access they create. This would be the perfect bag for an outing with the family or even for running errands. Love it!

And just for fun here are some photos from Pigeon Roost Farms.... Enjoy :)

  1. Amista, what a great finish! I love the fabrics you chose. That RK fabric for the main body will be great for now showing dirt and you still have great pops of color! Well done!
