Quilt Fair Fabric Blog Tour, Riley Blake Designs

I don't know about you, but I always love Tasha Noel fabric lines by Riley Blake Designs. Being a quilter, I was very excited when I saw the theme for this line was Quilt Fair. I knew it was going to be absolutely adorable.

This line also comes with a really amazing panel that includes pre-printed sawtooth stars, I cut one out to use for my pouch panel, which I pieced freestyle and free motion quilted on my Juki. More on that below...

The Details

I didn't use any pattern for this pouch. Just about any will do as long as you're replacing solid exterior panels with quilted panels like I have, you'll get the same effect.

  • My panels were roughly 9" x 8" in size after trimming.
  • I boxed the bottom corners by 1 ½ inches
  • Aurifil 50 weight thread for the quilting
I have really been into free motion quilting lately, so any chance I get to practice I will take it. I am not the best, but Im improving and I hope to continue doing so. One day I'd like to be able to confidently quilt a lap size quilt on my domestic machine.

Admittedly I have been hoarding Tasha Noel lines for a long time. They always coordinate and I will be adding what I have leftover to my pile so that one day I can make a large quilt entirely from her lines.

I will be gifting this pouch to my younger daughter for her orthodontic supplies to keep everything organized here at home. I finished it off with this sweet little suede tassel in yellow to compliment the primary color of the line.

So what do you think of the new line? If you've liked Tasha's lines in the past this one will definitely fit in well with your stash. Check your favorite quilt shops in-person and online for Quilt Fair today!
