Blog Hop: Batting Busting Week!

Hello and welcome! Today I'm sharing a quilt little project to help you get control of your batting scraps and use them up for the Batting Busting Week organized by Patterns by Jen.

If you're like me, you can't even let those thin strips of batting that are trimmed off a quilt go, no matter now narrow they are! I don't know why I do this.. maybe just because I hate waste. In any case, there are a lot of things you can eventually use your batting scraps for.

Today I want to share a simple pincushion made from a single hex flower and cut up batting scraps that fits perfectly in the throat of your machine.

Supplies Needed:

• 7 - one inch basted hexies, ready to stitch
• needle & thread for hand sewing
• batting scraps cut up into small pieces
• Video tutorial

Instructions:

1. Sew your hexies together in the traditional flower shape.
2. Remove the center EPP paper from the back and fold your flower in half (wrong sides together) and clip in place.
3. Sew all open hexie sides EXCEPT the very top.
4. Remove all papers and turn your pincushion right side out through the open top area.
5. Stuff with cut up batting scraps as much as possible. Sew opening shut.
