Herringbone Mug Rug Pattern

Oct 27, 2016

Happy Friday! Today I'm releasing the foundation paper piecing pattern for my Herringbone Mug Rug and it's also my 29th Birthday!!

I have been working on this for a while, but my son (20 months old) was sick this past week and it has bee a rough few days wit little-to-no sleep for me. On Tuesday he seemed to be coming around and during his daily nap I finally took some "me time" to finish up this pattern and test it out for myself.

This is about as easy as you can get when it comes to foundation paper piecing. Straight lines, no tricky curves, and it still gives you an awesome finished piece!

Supplies:

  • Fabric scraps at least 2" wide
  • 6.5" x 9.5" backing fabric and batting
  • 30" Binding
  • Printed pattern pieces
My pattern assume *some* knowledge of paper piecing. A beginner could easily knock this out in no time, and it would actually serve as great practice! :)

Also, a big thanks to the ladies who tested my pattern! Three of them are shown above (@sewsewmaria, @stitchharmony, and @mldecker). They did an amazing job and I love the mug rugs they made!
